In 2012, our team saw that while up to 60 percent of local animal welfare funding came from license sales, only 13 percent of pet owners comply with mandatory licensing laws. We started with five employees in Kingston, Ontario, determined to solve this gap. Our first partner was Guelph, Ontario, and from there we learned, refined, and scaled, building a licensing solution that worked for pets, guardians, and communities alike.

Those early years taught us to build technology around real-world needs.
