DocuPet Expands into Delaware with Statewide Pet Licensing Program
Delaware dog owners can now access a streamlined, user-friendly online pet licensing system through DocuPet’s first-ever partnership in the state. In collaboration with the Office of Animal Welfare (OAW), this statewide initiative introduces a modernized licensing program that simplifies pet registration and includes our free HomeSafe® 24/7 Lost Pet Service, which helps reunite lost pets with their families through personalized tags and secure online profiles.
“Our new partnership with DocuPet will be extremely valuable to dog owners and necessary for animal safety within the state,” said Christina Motoyoshi, director of OAW. “Licensing your dog helps reduce the number of animals in shelters, freeing up space and resources for pets in need. Licensing also helps to ensure public safety and support critical animal services needed in our community. We’re excited for residents to take advantage of this program to help keep their own pets and others in the community safe.”
In Delaware, all dogs aged six months or older must be licensed and have a current rabies vaccination. Late fees for expired licenses will be waived through July 15, 2025, to support dog owners during the transition to the new system. Existing licenses will stay valid until they reach their expiration date. Pet owners can learn more and register pet licenses online at stateofdelaware.docupet.com.
